HD wired bird box camera and 4-in-1 Coax to HDMI Converter (GTTV2HDMI)Updated a month ago

This guide will show you how to set up one of our analogue bird box cameras with the 4-in-1 Coax to HDMI Converter. In this example, we will be using an 8MP bird box camera.

Before you begin

Make sure that your TV has a HDMI port, and set it to be showing input from that port. Unpack the kit but do not install anything in place yet.

Make sure you have a camera, converter, HDMI cable, BNC cable and power supplies for both camera and converter.

Videos

If you have a camera with a microphone then watch this video, which uses an NCTV205 bird box camera as an example:

NOTE: The GTTV2HDMI does not have an audio input so to use the microphone on the camera would require a separate speaker with an RCA input.

If you have a 4K bird box camera, watch this video:

Wiring up the converter

Connect the HDMI cable from the port on the back of the TV to the port marked 'HD OUT' on the HDMI converter. Now connect the micro USB cable to the port on the HDMI converter marked 'DC 5V' and the USB to wall plug adaptor (connecting this to the USB port on a TV will not work as it will not provide enough power):

You should see the 'POWER' LED's on the converter turn on and it will display some coloured bars on the TV it is connected to:

This next step is option; if you want to connect the camera to a recorder at the same time as it will be connected to a TV, connect a second BNC cable to the port marked 'VIDEO OUT' on the converter and connect the other end to a camera port on the recorder:

Now connect the power supply to the camera:

Now connect the BNC cable to the camera and to the 'VIDEO IN' port on the converter:

You should now see the converter automatically recognise the resolution on the camera that has been powered on:

Configuring settings

Output mode - If the camera seems to be displaying a low resolution, it may be set to CVBS mode. You can change this by holding the toggle stick on the camera in any direction other than right for five seconds or so:

OSD menu - You can access and change different camera settings using the OSD menu. This can be accessed by pressing the toggle stick on the camera lead inwards rather than up, down, left or right. You will be presented with the standard settings; most people will not need to change any of these.

Audio - If you are using the GTTV2HDMI converter with a camera that has a microphone, you will not be able to listen to the audio feed via the HDMI output port on the converter. If audio is a necessity you can use a separate speaker to directly connect to the audio port on the camera.
