How to reset your Wired HD IP Bird Box Camera password (NCIP2)Updated 9 months ago

By default the Wired HD IP Bird Box Camera doesn't have a password and can be left blank. However, if you set a password and have forgotten it or you accidentally locked your camera, you will need to follow these steps to reset it.

Remember this is the password that you set on the camera when you first connected it to the internet, not the account password to log into the app (XMEye or iCSee Pro).

This guide is for the Wired HD IP Bird Box Camera pictured below:

If you're not sure which model of camera you have, check out this guide:

Which bird box or wildlife camera do I have?

Before you begin

Download the app called XMEye Pro on your phone or tablet.

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile.myeye.pro&hl=en_GB&gl=US

Apple: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/xmeye-pro/id1414146530

You will also need a Windows computer because the part of the camera interface which allows the password to be reset can only be accessed using Internet Explorer.

Let's get started

First we need to find out the IP address of the camera; the easiest way to do this is to use CMS5, the desktop programme used to view and record these cameras.

If you haven't added it to CMS5 before, follow this guide to do so:

If you go to the Device Manage page, you will see the camera listed in the top or bottom panel (depending on whether it has already been added), and the IP address will be listed under 'IP/Port':

When you've found the IP address, open up Internet Explorer and type the IP address into the address bar. For example the IP address of my camera is 192.168.1.133. You should see this log in page:

If the language selected at the top right of the page is not English, change it to English. If you see the below message, click 'Allow':

 Click on '?':

Then 'Forget?':

Then your page should look like this:

Now open up XMEye Pro on your phone and log in.

On the 'Device List' page, tap the 'Scan' icon at the top left:

Now scan the code being displayed on your PC, using your mobile phone, just point the phone towards the QR code:

Your phone/tablet will display a six digit verification code, just type this into the 'Verification code' box:

Now you can reset the password:

When you view the camera again it will prompt you for a password again, just enter your new one, and you will be able to see the video feed from the camera again.
